A unique and interesting accessory surely gets a high rate of second glance. More importantly, it will bring you a good mood. Created in Paris, Yazbukey, an accessory brand, soon gained it wide popularity thanks to its dreamlike and unrestrained design and become one of the most sought-after brands. Its designer, Yaz bukey comes from a legendary country—Turkey. She claims that she’s the princess of Ottoman Empire and the descendant of king of Egypt Muhammad Ali. Her mystery background has brought more fantasy to this brand.
Bukey majored in industrial design and came to Paris after graduation. She decided to set up her own accessory brand in 2000. Yazbukey is good at using the Acrylic sheet to create unique accessories though they are not luxurious. The inspiration come comes from various aspects of life, from the classic movie scenes to music rhythm, from travel journals to fairy tales. Even her daydreams will inspire her a lot.
For example, one of her winter collection Turkish Delights was largely inspired by the Middle East charm of her hometown. In her collection, you can see the moon and sun of the Turkey flag, mysterious Coffee divination and hookahs that you will find everywhere in Turkey. Bukey presents the fantastic Middle East culture through these creative and dedicated accessories, scarfs and womens bags. In addition, she designed some classic patterns like red lips, pretty legs and big eyes. She cleverly combines pictures and three dementional accessories. The broad-brush outline comic style is really impressive.
Apart from her own brand of the same name, she is positively seeking cross-boundary cooporation with other brands. She designed accessories for Zac Posen’s ready-to-wear collection. She also designed packages for Ladurée a makaron brand.
This year, Yazbukey cooperated with Shu Uemura and designed a collection based on a story that four girls fell in love with one guy. This collection that is inspired by their symbolic patterns like red lips and big eyes has 34 items. Personally, I’m a big fan of her fashion handbags. They have exotic patterns and exquisite design, as full of loveliness and subtlety as any work of art.
